German Eco Applicator set to make an impact in Bangladesh

New improved soft coating solution provides significant energy savings with reduced drying times and can eliminate the need for a conventional wet-on-wet padder.

Following the International launch of the Eco Applicator soft coating process by A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co KG, Mohammad Farhad Hossain, Bengal Technological Corporation, said that it was “the right product for textile producers in Bangladesh at just the right moment, offering significant energy savings with reduced dyeing times.”

The new Eco Applicator soft coating process provides significant energy savings with reduced liquor application and eliminates the need for a conventional wet-on-wet padder.

Using trough and roller techniques, the new process applies just the required amount of liquid/coating to the fabric via contact with the roller.

It has been designed for three options – to apply a liquid/coating to one side of the fabric; to apply a liquid to both sides of the fabric; and to apply a liquid to one side and a different liquid to the other side.

KARL MAYER participated successfully in Techtextil India

KARL MAYER was exhibiting at this year’s Techtextil India in the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai on a joint stand under the auspices of the Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, VDMA (German Engineering Federation).

This experienced textile machine manufacturer was handing out samples, brochures and information on the machines produced by its subsidiary, KARL MAYER Malimo - bi- and multiaxial machines and warp knitting machines with weft insertion - its warp knitting machines for technical and semi-technical applications, and its warp preparation machines for processing technical yarns.

The visitors flocked to see what was on offer. “A lot of people came to see us on all three days. Many of our existing customers came from all over India to visit our stand, but new customers were also interested in our products,” said Bastian Fritsch, KARL MAYER’s sales manager for India. Many of the conversations focused on shade/screening nets and the textiles produced on high-speed, three-bar tricot machines, which are used as embroidery grounds and as backings in the production of artificial leather in particular.

3D briefs made from DJ 6/2 EL combine style with function

By developing its functional 3D briefs, KARL MAYER is getting the bodies of fashion - conscious women into shape, as well as modernising the production of stylish shapewear. These discreetly patterned briefs are produced so that they are almost ready-to-wear on a DJ machine, type DJ 6/2 EL.

The only thing that remains to be done is to cut out the semi-finished article, fold it vertically, close the inner leg seam and finally turn the briefs to the right side – and this comfortable shapewear, which can be produced very efficiently, is ready to wear.

Additional elastane is incorporated to give the textile the required compression and this is introduced by the Positive Pattern Beam Drive (PPD). This is done mainly at specific locations, i.e. at the waistband to create a flat border and at the hips to produce a smooth outline. Compression is also applied to flatten the stomach.

Tests have recently been carried out at an independent test laboratory to assess whether KARL MAYER’s 3D briefs can meet the multiple requirements of shapewear.
